Stoke Newington is fortunate in bordering with Islington to the west and Dalston and Hoxton to the south. Dalston, along with Hoxton, now connected by the new East London Line, is home to the Rio Cinema, The Arcola Theatre and Ridley Road fruit and veg market. For London’s young professionals and those in the arts and media Islington and Hoxton is where it’s at. It’s not just the bars, clubs, restaurants and arts and music venues that have made Islington and, more recently, Hoxton into destination areas, but also the markets, galleries and areas of special architectural or historical interest. In Islington you’ve got the Almeida Theatre, Islington Antique Market, Chapel Street Market, Islington Business and Design Centre. Hoxton is where you find Columbia Road Flower Market, the White Cube Gallery at Whitechapel and nearby Spitalfields which borders Brick Lane.
